1.Hypersensitivity to the drug; 2.Renal artery stenosis; 3.Aortic stenosis; 4.Coarctation of aorta; 5.Angioedema.
1.Renal impairment; 2.Hepatic impairment; 3.Ischaemic heart disease; 4.Severe heart failure; 5.Collagen vascular diseases; 6.Angioedema; 7.Cerebrovascular diseases ; 8.Use cautiously in volume depleted and alt depleted patients
Diuretics: May experience excessive BP reduction when benazepril is used. Benazepril may attenuate he potassium loss caused by thiazide diuretics which could be beneficial.; Potassium sparing diuretics and K-supplements: Can increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
Starts with 10mg; orally once daily or in two divided doses. Increases the dose to the usual dosage of 20 to 40mg one or two divided doses; depending on patient`s response.
